Love had no pride…

Love had no pride….

Pretty wishes, pretty memories, become kind and sweet places we have known. I remember my greatest wish, ginger hair girl with the eyes of hazel, she was once, my midnight dancer in the cold nights of Winter.

On a night with the liar’s moon above, I told her, I loved her so and she whispered.Dear Johnnie, forgive me,I am a mess and cannot be awaken.

I held her tighter and I whispered. Please tell me sweet lies, please make me believe in miracles and wishes. I know, love had no pride. We have tonight, maybe tomorrow. You and I, we are running from everything and everyone. The half-moon night is above us, we can share the sweet lies. Pretend  we have forever and a-day.

Pretty Jenny wrapped her nude body tightly around me, she whispered. love had no pride dear Johnnie, after we give everything away…

Something is wrong with me…

Something is wrong with me….

Something is wrong with me. I am like a Bukowski poem gone wrong. Bukowski told us, do what you love, even if you must be alone, you must go hungry, be homeless and know hard days. Go all the way or just become a mountain that don’t move.

I have become the mountain now, never moving, accepting life as-is. Once I wanted to save my world, write the great novel and live near the sea. I befallen and I can’t find my real face. I feel I am becoming more stone and rock the human skin.

Once I drank to feel alive, once I sought war to know I was alive. Love was never my strength, patience is my enemy and kindness is forgotten. Bukowski would tell me. “You did a fool’s dance for the rich men. Skinned off your real face and be-face with…

Eugi’s Weekly Prompt “Identity” July 13, 2020

Keep it alive

Eugenia is the host of Eugi’s Weekly Prompt

Your Weekly Prompt – Identity – July 13, 2020

~*~

I

Am me

No one can be me

It is my unique identity

I was gifted with it when I was born

I will keep this identity till the day I die

In between this time, I can develop, hone and refine it

I can make it better or just exist in what I started with

It can be work in progress or it could be a finished product

It has to be my choice what I want my identity to be

You know me by my identity

I am the only one

That is me!

Where I Cannot – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannot

parallax

Video: segment of Lesmurdie Brook in the Mundy Regional Park, early winter flow.

“Nothing is softer or more flexible than water, yet nothing can resist it.” Lao Tzu

Where I Cannot

Redoubtable, the granite holds sway,
forcing me to wend my way transversely,
finding paths of accomodation unlike

∼ the gentle brook who travels with ease ∽

Casting aside the rock as if butter,
shifting sand and tree alike,
smoothing paths where I cannot.
