Journal Entry – Part 2

Moonbeams & Kisses

Vulnerable doesn’t look good on me; it never has. I write to make sense of my emotions. I write to heal. While my words come from a place of love, sometimes they’re coupled with frustration, fear, pain. The process isn’t always pretty. I am tired of this weight I carry. But there’s never any rest for the weary, is there? So, I resume my place as the memory keeper—the strong, silent observer who picks up the pieces, fastens them back as well as I can, and holds it all together.

Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 265 – Social Distancing Thoughts

But I Smile Anyway...

“Never put off til tomorrow, what you can do today.”

Thomas Jefferson

Hmmmm… thank you, Spidey, for another thought provoking quote.

You see, the thing is, there are so many things I’d love to do, but at the moment, I have no choice but to put off ’til goodness knows when, because of this cursed coronavirus.

Things that I think I’d like to do, then I realise I can’t actually do yet.

It got me thinking a little more…

Bucket lists.

Lots of people make them. But how many people actually action their dreams?

I haven’t really got one, as such, but I have dreams. Things I’d like to achieve, places I’d like to visit, things I’d like to learn.

As I sit inside, coccooned from the outside world, I have signed up to a few online courses to keep me sane. They’ll tick off a few of my hopes…

Attraction is a mystery

Be Sure You Come And Read This

A Faded Romantic's Notebook

Attraction is a mystery

What is it that captures, captivates and compels?

What is it that draws us, like iron to magnet, bee to honey, moth to light? What is it that makes us warm to another, need to make contact, need to be in their presence, or simply make us catch our breath when they come close?

Is it in their eyes, or their mouth? Is it the arc of their smile? Is it in their height, their weight, their curves and lines? Is it in the colour of their skin or their hair? Is it in their laughter, or their voice, or their words, or the intelligent mind within?

Is it in their honesty, their truth, their empathy, their kindness, their compassion, their hope?

Is it in their movement, their balance, the way their body moves when they walk? Is it in the clothes they wear?

Is it…

Daily Prompts- A fantasy

Keep it alive

This would be my best fantasy fulfilled

Cakes, rock buns, sandwiches, and tea

Some might say that I aim low

That food shouldn’t be something to dream about

But for someone who has been at war

All their adult life, trying to vanquish

The enemy that is obesity and overweight

It is one thought foremost in my mind

If someone invented calorie-free goodies

How wonderful it would be for people like me

To eat till we couldn’t eat anymore

But to still weight the same as before

But…….

I should stop being a ninnyhammer

As this dream is not going to come true

Let’s go out for a walk and try to shed

These unwanted pounds and get healthy

From my evening walk, yesterday! There was a light drizzle and there looked magnificent in the fading sunlight.

In response to the following prompts;

YDWP;

Vanquish

3TC;

Cake, Buns…

One day in future

Beans, Pen & Nirja

One day, I might come to your city again

I’ll visit the streets we walked together

When we crossed the busy roads,

I remember how you held my hands

I’ll remember how happy we were

Until then I’m carrying you in every drop of my tears

May be I’ll never forgive you

Still, these feelings I have for you won’t change

The 2020 Daily Writing Challenge – March 29

Jo Hawk

2020 Daily Writing Challenge

Writing is like driving at night in the fog.
You can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way.
– E. L. Doctorow

Today is Day 89 of the 2020 Daily Writing Challenge.

Did you write yesterday? Life is an endless parade of challenges, exciting experiences, and thrilling activities all competing for your time, attention, and energy. The glitter and glam captures your attention, turns your head, and you forget about doing what makes you happy. While having multiple interests speaks to your personal freedom and your right to choose, the fragmented focus can keep you from following your passion and derail the attainment of your goals.

What activity lights your eyes, sets fire to your soul, and penetrates every fiber of your being? If it makes you happy to sing, then sing. If your feet yearn to dance, allow them to…
