Walls

Confab With Me

Ignoring the abrupt silence that has formed an invisible yet a brick wall between the two hearts cried with helplessness, but often the sound of pain falls in the deaf ears of egotist souls

Heart Shaped Box

Brave & Reckless

contours
of my heart
so crisp
so clear
at sixteen
when I was
bold
definite
confident
sure
when did lines begin
to shift
blurred beneath
the brushstrokes
of midnight blue
amethyst?
leaving more hidden
than revealed
when did this heart
become mystery
to myself?
a puzzle box of sandalwood
fragrant
warm to the touch
but contents evasive
always a fingertip
out of my reach

What Fear Can Do

Confab With Me

When fear controls the mind the rational self takes hiatus and the heart sinks in some dreadful illusions.

And the irony remains that things which are unlikely to occur, the overthinking mind somehow manages to surface it in an unfortunate way.

Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 261 – Lurgy

But I Smile Anyway...

Yup.

For the first time, in a long while, the lurgy has caught up with me.

I consider myself pretty lucky. I have been in the Early Years setting for a good few years now, and if nothing else, it has been great for building my immune system!

Little kids are notorious for spreading germs.

My class at the end of last half term was proof, with the class depleted by nearly a third, as various bugs spread through Reception class, like wildfire.

I thought that a week away would be a good thing. It would give the children time to rest and recuperate, so they arrived back in class, fit…

Empty Picture Frames ~ A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

Walt's Writings

We all have them
A collection
All shapes, colors and sizes
Empty picture frames

Memories of what used to be
Rise from them
Through the mists of time
Bringing a smile
Perhaps a tear
As we remember

As we hold them to the light
We are transported to another time
The story of our life
All held in empty picture frames

got a feeling

Written in Blue Mercury

Duc Tran stocks up as community directed.

Things changed on January 23rd.
On January 24th my company contacted me.
They gave me $4000 credit on Walmart.com and Amazon.com.
They said make sure you can work from home for at least 4 months.
Over the next month I cherry-picked $4000 worth of food and “necessities”.

The last 4 day’s I’ve gotten up at 3:30.
I couldn’t sleep.
Each day after working out I went to the grocery store at 6am.
Actually, 5:50am… I’m always the first in line.
Last week.. Thursday… a gentleman showed me how at 5:53am you could
pull a side door open and enter the store without issue. Good man. Good man.

At 6am Sunday 3/1/20 the store was full. Completely full.
People were wearing masks.
Everyone was extremely polite to each other.
Everyone in line was extremely polite to each other and helpful.
The shelves were significantly…
