Riotous bliss – Eugenia

Go Dog Go Café

Spring sprung into an orchestrated symphony of vivaciousness.

morning comes scented

flowers sweet chorus ring out

the day has begun

Song birds perform in four-part harmony, their masterpieces lauded.

A gander at me –
I enjoyed a dedicated career in the insurance industry for over 20 years being rewarded both professionally and personally. Now it’s time for me to follow my dreams by doing things I enjoy…spending time with family, learning, sharing, traveling, writing poetry and encouraging others to pursue their goals. My writing and creative endeavors can be found at my blogs, Eugi’s Causerie (And so it goes…) and PoetryPalette (Poetry, a seasonal state of mind), where I have gathered a following of kindred souls who share my passion for writing. I have authored Seasoned Delights, A Haiku Collection and Mama, me and Mother Nature. I am also a published author on Spillwords.

Discover the New You

Confab With Me

Slow down once in a while,
smell the roses,
feel the breeze,
pick your thoughts one leaf at a time,
and in the midst of enjoying the smallpleasures
keep discovering the newer you with a smile

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”  Thomas Jefferson

Of Every Bastard Politician

How I desire compassion
O how I talk of love,
I would rend the heavens for
orphans and widows,
downtrodden people turned
into beasts of no consequence,
O, but lust!
My jaw slackens,
saliva glistens my jaw,
heart racing,
as I waking dream
the mollusks and shells of
keelhauling, the ropes of death,
the bullets of ebbing breath,
blood coursing my hands,
of every bastard politician.

Suspended

Heart Breathings

his voice is low and soft,
a piece of silk you might keep in a drawer and pull out only on special occasions,
just to feel it between your fingers,
as a stream of I love you’s purls from his lips,
like rain from cloud to roof to eave,
and her face becomes fierce with belief,
drawing a circle around all the hours they’ve spent together,
a feeling of longing crashing against the underside of her ribs,
as the swollen, humid air begins to swirl with their whispers,
suspended,
like the iridescent membranes of soap bubbles

Tripping

Charmed Chaos

It was a time of freedom- the seventies
Free love, free drugs, free to be me, free free free

Purple microdot in tiny squares
That would take you on a trip of your life
So my friends and I
We decide we’ll split one 4 ways
At first it wasn’t anything spectacular, at least for me
Then my three friends started tripping
Seeing lights, colorful rings, body tingling
And feeling other more unpleasant things
So I found myself saying to them ‘No, it’s not working for me’
As I spent the night waiting to come down from the high
While trying to keep at bay their fears and mine
I don’t know why but I kept hearing a train all night
as if it was bearing…
