I Write Her

COME AGAIN LOVE

Willow
I hide in you
Where the pale winter dwells
Waiting for light to come again
Darkest
Nights cry
In silent solitude for love
Once held in softest hands
Come again love
Call me

STRIPPED

Stripped by winter’s darkest rays
I lie in sorrow’s deep embrace
Tears erupt fill empty days
Disappear in rising haze
Light comes again in unknown ways
Stripped by winter’s darkest rays
I lie in sorrow’s deep embrace

WHERE LIGHT IS BORN

Stuck in
The damp dark earth
My fingers scrabble cries
Rising silently to heaven
The veil
Is torn
By unimaginable pain
I dwell in the darkness
Where light is born
Screaming

CALL ME

Call me
As the snowdrops
Die in pure innocence
While the wild winds roar their rage
Holy
Sacred
Is the silence now as death comes
Sighing in the stillness
Of the last breath
On earth

LAST BREATH

Valorous Bird

the blue ink will spill
her hands untied will write
she will not let it go
until she empties herself from inside

Stitching her mouth would not sew the thoughts inside the fissures, deliberately
created by this proud society in the form of her beloveds whom she once admired with respect.

“Tonight In the Dark” By Ivor Steven.

Pseudopsychosis.

My tears are only droplets
Into a sea of grief

Despite my cloudy tears
I see, there above
The night sky is clear
Despite my inner gloom
I see, there above
A bright crescent moon
Despite my blinding wonder
I see, there above
She’s cradling a shining star

Note from the author Ivor Steven: My friends 38 yr son, had died suddenly in the morning, through my tears I saw the crescent moon cradling a star, and wrote these words on impulse.

2020 Daily Writing Challenge

Writing is like driving at night in the fog.
You can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way.
– E. L. Doctorow

Today is Day 87 of the 2020 Daily Writing Challenge.

Did you write yesterday? Life is an endless parade of challenges, exciting experiences, and thrilling activities all competing for your time, attention, and energy. The glitter and glam captures your attention, turns your head, and you forget about doing what makes you happy. While having multiple interests speaks to your personal freedom and your right to choose, the fragmented focus can keep you from following your passion and derail the attainment of your goals.

What activity lights your eyes, sets fire to your soul, and penetrates every fiber of your being? If it makes you happy to sing, then sing. If your feet yearn to dance, allow them to…
