“One can write nothing readable unless one constantly…”

“One can write nothing readable unless one constantly struggles to efface one’s own personality. Good prose is like a windowpane.”
– George Orwell, 1903-1950, English novelist, essayist, journalist and critic, cover art from Michael Sheldon’s “Orwell, the Authorized Biography”

“You’ve achieved success in your field when you don’t know whether what you’re doing is work or play.”
– Warren Beatty, actor, director
“… keep swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do was keep swinging.”

“My motto was always to keep swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do was keep swinging.”
He smashed Babe Ruth’s all-time home run record, in defiance of threats to his life.

The Murder of a Broken Heart
Empty words.
Words repeated
To so many others.
Not unique to me.
Though I believed
They were.
The on and off.
The I love you
I don’t.
The fantastical nights.
The lonely ones.
Tears shed
Over your indifference.
The murder of
A broken heart.
You hurt me.

Public Wall

I keep adding on
the words go against the hours
they compete with each other.
Time and attention

that scent of yours
my memory guide.
Hands can’t ignore the pathway
full of carrying
priorities favorite things
they hold onto everything.
Yesterday you wore

you deserve to be loved.
I could write a thousand poems
and still, some words are missing.
Attention is a…

Daily Dose for the Soul

The power of intention is paradoxically experienced through what you’re willing to give to others. Intention is a filed of energy, which is emanating in infinite supply. What can you give if you don’t have money to give? Swami Sivananda’s advice:
The best thing to give
Your enemy is forgiveness
to an opponent, tolerance;
to a friend, your heart;
to your child, a good example;
to your father, deference;
to your mother, conduct that will make her proud of you;
to your self; respect;
to all men, charity.
Make giving a way of life. It is, after all, what Source and nature do eternal. Trees bend down low with ripened fruits; clouds hang down with gentle rain; noble men bow graciously. This is the way of generous things.
