Memories Faded
Bits of things that pop into this mind.
Forgetting you is my penance.
A dignified mercy to a broken heart.
It feels good to let you go.
You lied to me.
In such a way,
the unbelief struck with such force
it left me feeling crazy.
Visions of us are now hazy.
I saved me.
Remembering,
how I’ve erased you from my memory.

A little death…
A little death….
Silky skin, wine and song took us here.
You are as pretty as the rising sun my love.
Honey, dear and sweet heart I have called you.
You were like sweet Fall honey. Your kind and gentle voice caressed me like a gentle and needed Summer breeze. Your hands opened new storms of love and need that were just illusions.
I whispered I loved you in the darkness of locked motel rooms.
You told me. I will break your heart. I’m wild and not tamed. Love will break our backs and leave us with tears.
I knew the ending at the beginning.
We were just a shadow dance where two bodies rage and crash for the need of the body.
You called our Motel rendezvous just interlacing of two people wanting a little death only.
People who bled out, don’t need love.
I told you. You are…

Like a river, we are.
One.
Just photos in a book,
just beautiful faces missed.
Just kind voices heard in my dreams now.
Beautiful hearts missed.
Two..
Swirl me in your mind,
my kind lover.
Make me believe,
Love is kind and forever.
Three…
Once I wanted everything.
I learn, I had everything I needed already.
We don’t need to own everything.
The blessing of life are always near us.
Four….
I told her, just a nibble my sweetheart.
She laughed and she whispered.
You naughty boys request a nibble on my ear and my neck.
Making me feel free and reckless.
Five…..
Like a river we are.
We are seeking the sea,
to hear the chorus of the music of the ocean.
Returning to where we belong.

Moment of Ingratitude
Sometimes I forget
how blessed I am
and whine about
something soon
forgotten. That
moment of ingratitude
blocks the light
of love, leaving me
in shadows of self-pity.
Foolish me who lets a
passing woe spoil even
one second of this
beautiful life
bestowed upon me.
Speaking of Love
Can we speak of love
when our hearts remain
closed to some? How
does one love those
who wish them harm?
We do not need to
walk among thieves
or tolerate those
who are abusive.
But we do need to have
compassion, for in
their dark days, do
they suffer, for they know
not the peace and joy
that comes with the
love of the Lord.
Defeated
I know I can’t
so why try? Defeated
before I begin.
He didn’t know he
couldn’t, so he did.

ULOTRICHOUS
The Word of the Day is “ulotrichous“
DEFINITION: Adj. Exhibitingulotrichy : having woolly or crisp hair (Merriam Webster)
It’s always the same: men and women (particularly women) who are ulotrichous don’t want to have it, while those (women) who are not, would like to. Of course! Ulotrichous refers to people with curly hair.
Write a poem, story or anecdote inspired by this word.
