Why do my whys
make people angry?
There is no dishonor
in saying, “I don’t know,”
or better yet, “Let’s go
find out.”
Of course, some “whys”
are unanswerable right
now, but still they
lead to interesting inquiry.
W e open our minds with “whys”
H elping others to seek to know
Y es, whys open many doors
The trickster misdirects
your attention
a pretty girl dancing
leaves the elephant unseen.
Beware or be fooled.
You know what I would like to see
Politeness become viral, kicking out rudeness
People making provisions for those in need
Throwing greed out by the ear,
Hanging it on the peg on the backdoor
Being thoughtful and kind becoming the new vogue
Being good, considered it’s own reward
No trophy expected for doing the right thing
Ah! me and my wishful thinking!

Today at d’Verse, Frank asked us to write a triolet. Since this is totally new to me, I took an extra day to work on this one. I am making a stab at it and hope it is close to what we are supposed to do. For more on what a triolet is, check with Wikipedia.

Tiny seeds lie in wait for spring
As gentle rains soak mother earth
In budding trees, mockingbirds sing
While the seeds lie in wait for spring
Butterflies emerge, taking wing
When the land prepares for rebirth
Tiny seeds lie in wait for spring
As gentle rains soak mother earth
dVerse Poets Pub: Almost a Triolet
oh, the spiritless toil
blood, sweat, and tears
those task-ridden years
day after day after day
work life balance no way
how did I miss the call
life’s not one size fits all
why I’ve spilled enough ink
no copy/paste no lip sync
my vigor up and gone
it’s the same old song
signs signs everywhere signs
shut the noise in my mind
my ego weeps eternally

A gander at me –
I enjoyed a dedicated career in the insurance industry for over 20 years being rewarded both professionally and personally. Now it’s time for me to follow my dreams by doing things I enjoy…spending time with family, learning, sharing, traveling, writing poetry and encouraging others to pursue their goals. My writing and creative endeavors can be found at my blogs, Eugi’s Causerie (And so it goes…) and PoetryPalette (Poetry, a seasonal state of mind), where…
