Promote a Poet.Writer Thursday

Welcome to Promote a Poet/Writer Thursday! This is the day of the week where all members of the Go Dog Go Café Community are invited to introduce a Poet or Writer they enjoy reading.

Participating is really fast and simple- in the comments below, post the link for the Home Page of the Poet/Writer you are introducing to us and tell us briefly why you think they are special.

We encourage all of you to visit these blogs (or social media pages) and get acquainted with some great new writers.  You never know who you might meet. . .

Happy reading!

Come What May – #poetry – #WOTD

Night Owl Poetry - Dorinda Duclos

Lost, and long forgotten times

Left me in a place uncertain

Naïve, was I, within my mind

Noticing not, would be my burden

False accusations, unfiltered words

Lead to a heart filled with anger

A barrage of absurdities, came at me, in herds

Much like the bells, tolling, such clangor

I never was that good at reading wrongs

It is something I am faced with everyday

Still, lessons learned, have made me strong

A way I shall live with, come what may

Wisdom

Charmed Chaos

In youth there was no search for deeper meaning,
no soul seeking of the truest of truths
only laughing, loving, leaving, and living,
not caring what each tomorrow would bring.

For I knew without fail the brilliant sun would shine,
a luscious full moon would light a coal black night
and it was enough because the young have little time
for gazing or seeking wisdom from the star-specked sky.

The more I age there is an enlightened understanding
for the essence of life flies with shimmering butterfly wings,
grows in sprouts of tender seeds with the freshness of spring,
breathes in the flaming red sunset coloring a pink velvet sky
and I marvel why it took so long to realize the beauty of life.
