I Want a Closure

Confab With Me

I want a closure
an answer to bring
my delirious heart to rest
from the numerous tribulations
and the constant hammering
from those monotonous hums
that keeps me awake at night

I want to bring ease
to my unrest soul
from the burden, I am carrying
for all this while
unsure why she left
without announcing a word
leaving me stranded
and frozen in the past yore

I want to move forward
but only after I get answers
to the silent ringing
that I feel on my mind
like some lurking shadows
in a ghostly night

For I want to rest
such questions forever
and break the besiege
liberating my heart

The Cremation – a poem by Mark Tulin

Amethyst Review

The Cremation

As I watched my dog
being taken to the fire,
I closed my eyes
imagining his soul
being transformed,
his past ending, a future beginning,
a pile of remains on the hot oven floor.
His charred bones
sanctified by the burning flames,
a spirit floating out in space,
vulnerable in the vast universe,
infinite and everlasting.

The Return ~ A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

Walt's Writings

My dream last night
Left me feeling
Like there wasn’t much left of me
I thought to myself

“I’m way to old to die this young”

So I put on my old shoes
And followed a voice that said

Run away with me
To Mother Mountain”

I knew that it wasn’t long
Before I’d be shaking hands
With the Holy Ghost
I knew the time had come
To listen to ballads and blues
Suddenly I felt a cold hand take mine
I knew immediately that it was her
The Devil had returned

She said,
“Rock with me
And we’ll listen to the echoes of the dark.
You’ve had good days and bad
And it’s time to let me hold you.
I’ll be your midnight lover,
I have seen under your scars,
So come with me to the wrong side of Heaven.”

I woke up then
Wondering what my choice…
