Throwback Friday – Queen of Quaint – Eugenia

queen of quaint,

a title lovingly bestowed

on me, myself and me

some time ago

an observation of a

mere acquaintance

and rightfully so

my golden years upon me

my life flying by in a

woosh, reaching out for

purpose and symmetry

yet not numbed into

boredom

a free-spirited soul

sipping a cup of

her favorite coffee

while yearning to express

thoughts of yore,

thoughts of today

thoughts of morrow

looking forward to

another sunny and

whimsical day

A gander at me –

I enjoyed a dedicated career in the insurance industry for over 20 years being rewarded both professionally and personally. Now it’s time for me to follow my dreams by doing things I enjoy…spending time with family, learning, sharing, traveling, writing poetry and encouraging others to pursue their goals.

Throwback Friday- Dreams Not Real by Beth Amanda

Go Dog Go Café

loved you

I loved you in dreams

until I learned…

I could not touch

your beautiful face

feel the stubble

of your weekend beard

sing silly songs

in the sun beside you

There was no hand

to hold at night

or brush the hair

from my face

No lips to feed me love…

So I closed the dream book

and walked into life

My Destruction

Sarah Doughty

“You see, I know you’re my undoing.
For better or worse, my heart is yours.”

Little tendrils of sage smoke circle around me as I make a futile attempt to cleanse my thoughts. It seems as though no matter how many times I’ve completed this process successfully in the past, today, my mind refuses to break free from you. I’m not sure why that is — or, at least, I refuse to acknowledge it. You see, I know that you’re going to be my undoing. I know that you’re going to steal my heart. And I know I will be powerless to stop you. More importantly, I’m not sure I want to stop it at all. Though that thought — even admitting it myself — is beyond terrifying, there’s something about this situation that I can’t seem to fight. Maybe I can tell the difference between something real and something…

Acceptance

Megha's World

Learn and learn to love

how the lonely hands discern

themselves and looks for completeness

loneliness,

which is carved out of us discordant beings

everything has a purpose

even the rotting leaf becomes sustenance

for tiny wiggling earthworm

happiness recycles itself

the golden rule of nature

it becomes pure to be embraced again

as you make space in your broken

heart for the new budding relationship

everything gives way

like the old dried autumn leaves

a vibrant bookmark for the seasons turning

Patience is a virtue,

time is a great mystic,

the fondness of something new

is the acceptance of pain.

Listen and hear closely

the loom is churning

our the songs of happiness

pain getting recycled

open our discordant minds

clear the web and webbing

hear closely the winds are singing

that lullaby again.
