Saturday coffee

Siren Whispers

Coffee and REM

the buzz of voices

your eyes meet mine in

silent conversation

the smile that hovers on your lips

engaging in conspiracy

your fingers find my stockinged thigh

my blush and pulse

climb

as your hand does

unspoken wishes, flash

fire in eyes

leaning in

a whispered phrase

my breath catches

hooked deep

wrecked

aching

for the taste of coffee

and your lips

Not a worthy excuse

Do Not Miss This Awesome Tribute To A Writer’s Mentor!!

A Faded Romantic's Notebook

It would make you angry

my not writing

just because

you are gone.

You were the one

who so often

encouraged me

inspired me

pushed me

roused me

applauded me.

You who were the one

who always

expected more

who insisted

‘you are a better writer

than you believe’.

Even on different paths

in recent years

your first question

‘what are you writing?’

your firmest advice

‘write about everything’.

It would make you angry

my not writing

just because

you are gone.

You would not see

my sorrow

at your passing

as a worthy excuse.

“Goodnight Love”

Penny Wilson Writes

My mind and body are looking for solace.  I lie on those crisp white sheets.   My mind drifts to thoughts of you and I smile.

You are never far from my thoughts.  Your whispers of love on the phone are reassuring but little compensation for the touch of your lips.

I look at the stars through the bedroom window.   I try to picture you across the miles.

I close my eyes.  Your face drifts into view.  I smell your skin and feel your fingertips on my cheek.

As sleep carries me away, I feel your lips on my brow and your whispered “goodnight love”.
