None Like You – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannon
None Like You
So cool
as you touch my lips,
I love the wet
and the spice of you
a rich perfume
that I can taste,
smooth
unblended nectar
like liquid velvet,
and in all the world
there’s none like you
at all
my jar of whiskey.

Memories (Micro poetry)
Surface
Just beneath the surface
I’d see a glimpse
of it
of you
You’re good
at keeping it
from most
But with me
you let it slide
Most saw
the boy next door
Those sparkling eyes
fooled them
You were just
what they thought
you were
They saw the surface
ripple
I saw
the raging
storm
Just beneath the surface.

Falling For You
“But, my love, falling for you
was when my life truly began.”
Love is a journey that should be savored. It should be explored with great care and consideration. I knew, the first time we argued that my heart fell before my mind accepted it. But when my finally caught up, I was more certain than anything I’d ever felt in my life. Getting to know each other was just as much of an intellectual bonding as it was an emotional and physical. It was an exploration of uncharted territory. It was a slow build, like the crescendo of a grand orchestra. It was something to be cherished. Savored. And those memories will remain with me for the rest of my life.
