it could have been . . .
someone else
but it wasn’t
it should have been . . .
forever
but it ended
it might happen . . .
again
but I doubt it

Why would you want to
live with someone
who’s not in love
with you?
it is a simple question
but I never could reply
I never found the answer
to the question why?
I stood in the debris
of bits and pieces
and memories
scattered about
I looked for the light
at the end of the tunnel
that I hoped
would lead me out
out of the heartaches
and tears
and unfounded fears
that kept looming just ahead
yes, time’s done it’s healing
though my heart keeps concealing
memories that hide in my head
the Dark Days have past
and I’m happy at last
but some questions
and memories remain

in my mind
until my eyes are closed
and my soul is silent
being busy keeps me
from noticing the tiny things,
the things forgotten,
the things left undone

a burning truth
searing my soul
the shock wave
of her words Continue reading

He Left Her
With Her Heart
In Pieces On The Floor
Shattered In The Moment
He Said, “I Don’t Love You Anymore”
She Sat Alone In Darkness,
In Silence And With Tears
And Finally Found The Pieces
She Had Searched For Through The Years
She Rescued All The Pieces
Left Lying On The Floor
Her Heart’s No Longer Fragile
It’s Stronger Than Before
