By Charles Robert Lindholm
Few words, say so much
as the message of silence
and the parting touch
so sad, yet tender
marking the end
of what we shared
the love that remains
but goes undeclared
Our eyes are so fluent
with words never spoken
with hopes and dreams
and hearts that are broken
Two souls bonded
with memories together
but never blessed
with the gift of forever
A perfect love
an unanswered prayer
the truth’s unavoidable
in a perfect affair
The whispers remain
and the memories will last
with the message of silence
from out of the past
and a love remembered
