The Cat’s Meow

Sgeoil

I awoke this morning like the cat
stretched my limbs
spread my claws
yawned widely, flashed my incisors,
just to let the day know
I meant business.

When I was sure the dust motes
got my message
I leapt from the bed,
sauntered to the kitchen
rubbed up against the coffee maker
to show my appreciation

I sat at the table like the queen
lapped up my coffee
and with my motor running
trotted over to my window seat
plumped the pillows
settled into my day job - neighbourhood watch

after all, I can't let the world go to the dogs...
