A poem in hand has worth beyond measure for clarity of mind

I feel the breath of the wind bite down to bone as it blows through me.
Except it’s not breath.
It’s a hellish screech
of pain.
Howling like a haunted banshee.
The night is young and full of question marks.
I can see them in the clouds.
It is loud here –
outside my home,
and inside my mind.
I stifle a sigh.
I supress the tears.
I succumb to the screams.
My sense of self disappears.
I cannot remember what normal feels like.
Suffering. Sickness. Stifling.
Forceful. Frightening.
Torture. Trauma. Torment.
Metamorphosis. Malcontent.
The wind shrieks.
I scream back.
Ha!
How’d you like that?

Her picture on her profile.
It began with that.
His long finger was arrested in its lazy, languid, bored downwards scroll by her image.
A slight intake of breath. An appreciative lift of the eyebrows. A smile. An impossible sense of recognition.
He did not know her, but she seemed familiar.
He studied her face. The eyes, the mouth, the nose, the cheekbones.
He stroked the stubble on his chin, and leaned forward slightly in his chair.
With his eyes closed he imagined her. And he could picture her completely in his head.
He guided the cursor and clicked the ‘follow’ button.
Her picture on her profile.
It began with that.

At dVerse Mish is hosting the Quadrille (44 words) with an invitation to write a poem and use the word or any of its forms – Nibble
dVerse Poets – Quadrille – Nibble
“Look, there’s no metaphysics on earth like chocolate.” Fernando Pessoa
Honestly In my defence the block was already open, surely an invitation to nibble and, before I knew it, I had downed three with glee, lustily chomping with gusto I devoured the whole lot and a horrible thought occurred, what if I hadn't been here? We sit and make small talk, we even tell a joke or two. Anything to see you smile, it’s called the ice breaker for you.
The sun is so bright, whenever you are around me. There’s never a dull moment, as you can clearly see.
We both share our laughter, yours is like a beautiful song. A tune that just hypnotizes me, all the night long.
Our heartbeat is a shared melody, the moment of love is real. We sit and enjoy each other’s company, and together we eat a meal.
You remember the meal we shared, how romantic was the moment. The night was just amazing, leaving butterflies in my stomach.
We talked of memories past, the lovely ones we shared. The ups and downs we’ve been through, and how much each other deeply cared.♥️
Giving our hearts to each other, pledging a proposal on Valentines. Couples like us…
