Possess – #poetry #magic
Night Owl Poetry - Dorinda Duclos
Spell book opens, once again
Glows in a fiery orange flame
Speaks to me, calling, a name
Who is it, I begin to obsess?
Has it come, for me, to possess?
A spark of desire, from within
Incantations, will now, begin
I watch, the fire, burning bright
Embers seeking, in mid-flight
Touch my skin, no burn I feel
Awaken, but this, was oh so real!
Sky is red, beyond the pane
Spell book closes, once again

The Storm Raged – #poetry #SeptemberWriting
Night Owl Poetry - Dorinda Duclos
The storm raged
thunderous explosions
like the Fourth of July
without its colors
rattled windows
dislocated, limbs fell
against the glass
or did they knock
asking me, to let them in
shelter from the battle
I don’t know, shades drawn
lights out, I could not see
seated in the darkness
only my shadow reflected
on the wall, as lightning
danced across the skies
illuminated, then black again
ice pellets, echoed,
the noise, like machine guns,
ravaging the night, a hunter
claimed his prey
then unexpected silence
the only sound heard
was the peaceful rain,
gently falling.
a truce…………
