I Drank the Moon,II

Charmed Chaos

“She didn’t quite know what the relationship was between lunatics and the moon, but it must be a strong one, if they used a word like that to describe the insane.”
Paulo Coelho,Veronika Decides to Die

I drank the delicious moon one balmy night
as it flowed from a celestial blue sky,
A star-lit river of planets and nebulae
Tempted me with their moonlight madness.

Pale lustrous moon tasted of silken milk,
While bonbon planets oozed with dark chocolate
Sweet nebulae, fragrant as crystalized ginger
Set my hunger afire with wanton desire.

I became entangled and trapped
within this universe of tremulous light,
a bodiless soul shimmering, in translucent air
floating with sparkling stars and drinking pale moon
Swimming in the cyan pool of my poetic mind.

Author’s Note: This is a revised poem from 2019. I enjoy going back to some of my older works and updating…
