AN IMPROVISED LIFE
By Charles Robert Lindholm 2-17-2017 at 4:30 a.m.
An improvised life
no following footsteps
like the rest of us
it’s not what we’ve heard
professed to us
A high wire act
meant to thrill you
so daring and bold
it might kill you
A dangerous course
on an uncharted sea
too scary for those
who will never live free
An improvised life
with no musical score
a life played by ear
like none sung before
as our hearts hum softly
and dream of more
