Scarecrow Politics

Roth Poetry

Scarecrow politics seems to be the practice of the day. Brainless comments, accusations, and manipulations are scarecrows in the political arena, hoping to scare away those who would attempt to steal their position and power.  With Halloween just around the corner, one wonders what they will dress up like next!

Politics unchanged

Scarecrows and Smokescreens

No need for a brain

Frank Tassone asked us to do a poem for his Haikai Challenge using the Scarcrow as our prompt. I thought it fit right in with politics so I went there!

one more only time ~

beyond this day
of forgotten wills
night to darkness cleaves
a canopy of stars
where all
will shine

watching long
the narrow path –
searching familiar skies
grieving still
for one more
only time

how many now
the roads behind –
as promise laid before
a velvet stretch of moss
beneath our toes

the fading sun
reminding us
of all we’ve left to leave
before in some –
another time
we know

. . .

Whispers Of The Wind ~ A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet

Walt's Writings

The wind whispers to me
Telling me secrets
She feels that I should know
She knows that I’ve been losing sleep
But that’s the way life goes
She tells me of the olden days
When she was condemned to silence
How she cried a million tears
When she saw water turn to wine
She is there each time the eye of night
Slowly swallows the sun
There is magic in her words
I now see what she sees
For I am now her chosen one
The wind whispers to me
