Breakfast is key, that you know. But which breakfast reigns supreme for its calorie-burning power? We have the answer.
The biggest dementia risk factors can’t be changed, but you can address these issues to lower risk of cognitive decline or dementia.

Be Sure To Read This from Dwight!!!!
Words draw me to places yet unexplored
Stretched across the page like a mountain full of trees
Some of value tall and strong others just scraggly bushes
What draws me to write incessantly // hours on end
Filling pages with cobwebs of past // present // and future
So many like me write on and on, words unheard // never read
Yet they write, like me; seems they just can’t help themselves
What magic is in these words // the morphine of the soul
Stimulation like no other is my well written page
Compelling me to keep seeking that one last high
I am an Alzheimer’s poet // words flowing day after day
Yet with no memory tomorrow of what I wrote yesterday
There’s magic in words, shuffling the cards and dealing
A new hand every day… new words, new thoughts written
Perhaps one day soon I’ll be…

Welcome to the weekly #writephoto prompt!
This week’s prompt is a post with a difference – our August guest photo!
Portal – Image by Rebecca M. Douglass
For visually challenged writers, the image shows a puddle with leaves and trees reflected in the surface.
As I walked, avoiding the rain water in my way
Something glinted, sparkled like gems in my eyes
Looking towards the source of light, I found
That I was looking down at my own reflection
A little puddle of water on the road reflecting
The sky, the clouds, and trees around it
So much beauty concentrated in such a small space
Made me think how we pass ignorantly, the wondrous views
That nature has scattered all around us as a reminder
To look up, look around us and admire the world we live in

Doors are portals
Exit or enter, your choice
The exterior is for all to see
Decorated according to the taste of the inhabitant
What lies inside is a mystery
Till you’re granted permission to enter
When hospitality is extended in good faith
Never exploit this generosity, repay it with kindness

When we are actors, playing our roles on life’s stage
We lose the ability to be objective or unbiased
Occasionally we need to extract ourselves from the drama
And observe life as a spectator, from a distance
Deeply involved in our daily struggles, we forget often
That we aren’t the only players in this arena
Looking at life as it happens, from the angle of an outsider
We do learn how to put things in their proper perspective
I was taught this wisdom by my late father in law! And I have benefited a lot from this advice at time…

No matter how hard I try, I’ll always be the odd one out
The society judges me by its skewed standards and I don’t fit
Conformation is not my aim nor my desire in life
Being like everyone else never held any appeal for me
I like being different, I like my individuality
If I am a square peg in a round hole, I am rather proud of it
They call me a misfit, and aim to hurt or provoke me
They don’t know that I crave this title, am absolutely good with it
This a free flow writing where I just put down words as they came to my head.
A Day Without Words
To go a day without
Not t putting a word down
With my mind fought
How to not put down a word
Not that anyone heard
In my mind only and not for all
My heart it does fall
Putting the words away
Maybe nothing to say
But no my words flow
Thoughts they grow
So not a day with out words
Words they will be heard
