Geezer Mobile

you brought it home,
something my grandpa would drive
a boat of a car,
but I've got to say,
it grew on me

I picture you now
shades on your eyes
adjusting the mirror
laid back, relaxed
on the door to door leather seats

window cranked down
elbow jutting out
cool summer breeze
tickling the hairs
on your arm

and the hood ornament
leading our parade,
some may have thought
we were the clowns,
but hey, what did we care

cruising the highways
to the tunes on the radio
and I see it all clearly
as if it was here now,
yesterday's car
