SOMETIMES A PLAN BACKFIRES
A HUMOROUS POST
Estate PlanningDoug was a single guy, living at home with his father and working in the family business. He knew that he would inherit a fortune once his sickly father died.Doug wanted two things:
• to learn how to invest his inheritance and,
• to find a wife to share his fortune. One evening at an investment meeting, he spotted the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.
Her natural beauty took his breath away“I may look like just an ordinary man,” he said to her, “but in just a few years, my father will die, and I’ll inherit 60 million dollars.”Impressed, the woman obtained his business card.
Two weeks later, she became his stepmother.Women are so much better at estate planning than men…
Foreplay (Published)

My Haiku Foreplay has been published on Freya Pickard’s pureHaiku! Poets were asked to write five Haiku drawing inspiration from Elisa Ang’s beautiful painting called Unfurling. I hope you enjoy my published submission. I was also shortlisted for the feature writer, which is pretty flamin’ encouraging and not something I was expecting at all! Thank you Freya for this wonderful opportunity.

I used to be…
I used to be….
A man is telling me of all his many deeds and accomplishments.
I smile and listen.
Pretend I care.
I don’t believe in talking about the past.
Today I am who I am.
What matters is what will I do today.
I used to be a drinker,
I used to be a Lover of women,
I used to tell the world to f-off and travel my own direction.
Now those days seem like Myths of someone else life.
I wonder who I am now?
The drinker lost the desire to drink,
the Lover found someone to hold on to.
The man who ran down streets and beaches telling the world to f-off has faded away.
Older, wiser and smarter?
I know today a man needs to be kind.
Needs to listen.
Fix problems, not create them.

My lovely Beatrice. My muse by the sea.
My lovely Beatrice. My muse by the sea.
A Poem byCoyote Poetry
My lovely Beatrice. My muse by the sea….
Beautiful California for us to behold and
we entered into a love for the ages with one sweet kiss.
Angel with broken wings held me close..
The night and the ocean sang a sweet song for us.
“Run from the rules she whispered. Freedom is the last dream.”
I brought her close and inhale her perfume with my face in her hair.
Come back here in a year my love she whispered.
Enjoy today my sweet love for tomorrow we will wish for tonight.
Beautiful Beatrice promise me nothing but a chance to love for a moment and a gift of paradise.
Be not afraid she whispered and she gave me long and sweet kisses.
Expect dreams to make you cry and later in life. Make you smile.
A moment of perfect love in…

Angels, muses and sirens…
Angels, sirens and muses
A Poem by Coyote PoetryJust words.
Angels, muses and sirens…
I was near death often in my life. I learn Death isn’t an enemy. We must be born and die, we must live and struggle. I bury my second brother in 1989. Twenty years old and the hanging rope was their only friend. Left me dead in heart and mind. I believed if I was kinder, maybe life would have been less painful and death less a temptation for them. Now I soaked myself in good booze and locked doors. I have my 30-30 on the table, I cleaned her twice daily and I write dead-man poetry and I’m waiting for no-one. I returned from work, I listen to the clock radio and drank alone. My journal laid open and no new words to be written. I caressed the 30-30 and I wondered would I…

Entangled in your Thoughts
How can I escape you, even after taking the resolution not to have anything to do with you, when my subconsciousmind is unable to break free, entangled in your thoughts
