Will you let her near you

breathe on your skin?


Or do you prefer the gradual 

curious unravelling deception 

of the daily horoscope?


Do you have faith in the wet damp softness

of silk

steeped in mint?


Or are you afraid of the odour and taste

of her sweat?


Would you let your fingers 

linger there in the mess

the hair?


Or is she like the summer

the hot rain on your flesh?


She is all encompassing

the dust, the wind

she is love and hate

hope and despair


As you relished in such delight

Would you bother to ask a stranger like me: 

– how should one savour a woman?
