The waltz…
The Waltz
A Poem by Coyote PoetryThe ocean and love create emotions and passion that stay with us forever.
The waltz …
We were doing a waltz upon the quiet beach.
The waves were the orchestra and
the wind was whispering a love song.
I tossed you into a twirl and
I brought her back to me.
By the light of the moon.
Two lovers danced the movement of freedom
and celebrating being alive.
We come back to the ocean after each journey.
The ocean keeps oursecrets.
The dancing waves are always waiting.
You was as beautiful as when I first saw you at the poetry reading in 1994
and I held her by the sea, like you were my last breath.
We were two shadows upon a naked beach.
Doing the dance of hope and freedom.
The cold of winter is surrounding us.
We warm each other…

Beautiful Skylar Grey songs and a few words.
Enjoy the Words and Music!
Naked thoughts escape me and I told you. You are so damn beautiful. Please allow me to fall into your eyes and I will bleed for you, I will do anything to make you smile. Please allow me in and we can re-write a dying love story. Let’s find Big Sur, some strong tequila and lemon. Sing and dance till the rising sun can warm our faces, make us know. We are not alone. You and I. The crazy ones who need open spaces and the sea near. Please stay with me and we can re-write our stories. We could be the lucky ones who tasted love and they held on tightly.

Integrity
‘
Integrity–I say, I do!
Commitments are kept
I’m too tired
I’ll start tomorrow
Nobody’s perfect
You can’t be a little pregnant
you either have integrity
or you do not.
It’s better to not make
a commitment than break one.
Broken promises are hard to heal
friends, family, pets, plants,
most of all, ourselves.
We all too often do not follow through
with what we intended to do.
New Year’s resolutions seldom last
someone is left waiting for us
we promise ourselves to
stop smoking, lose weight, visit our mothers.
Broken vows made into a ladder
would reach the sky.
Do not say “yes”
when you should
say “no.”
Integrity is not “maybe.”
Do you have integrity?
More important, do I?
The Present
I must be present
to receive the present
rules of the raffle say.
No one can claim my prize
for me if I am far away.
But am I present in the present
do I see my prize awarded each day?
Glass of cool water
to quench my thirst
pretty seed from a tree,
kitten asleep in a sunbeam
sounds of children laughing at play.
I must be present to win my present
rules of the game clearly say.
For the present is
my presence in the
tiny moments of sweet life
savored, then saved for a rainy day.
Love Made Them Foolish, Nonsensical Lunatics
He was foolish
.
.
He reeked of inexperience
.
.
Lacked the emotional wherewithal to create something worth while
.
.
But the look in his eyes said he wanted to try
.
.
The passion in his lips said inexperience in one doesn’t mean inexperience in all
.
.
He was an ASININE excuse for a partner
.
.
But as a lover, he was a 5 star vacation of a lifetime
.
.
He begged to prove he was more than face value
.
.
Climbed mountains to show he was more than skin deep
.
.
Ripped open his heart to prove to her that there was even a heart to see
.
.
She was foolish
.
.
She reeked of a woman with too much experience but a heart too big that none of it mattered
.
.
She lacked the emotional wherewithal to…
