MEMORIES… a song

Kevin Parish

man in black shirt sitting on chair near lake during daytime

We drove down that old country road

We could see for miles and miles

We never saw another soul

It was the best times of our lives

And looking back it’s plain to see

Those little trips meant so much more

Than just a simple country drive

With a daddy and his boy

We’d spend the whole day fishin’

At an old abandoned shack

Where we’d dig worms and hook em up

And toss the small fish back

The tears well up within my eyes

Remembering those days

I pray my boy has memories of me

When like my daddy I’ve slipped away

Wishes

Words From The Borderline

There are so many things

That we just do not know

What tomorrow will bring

How today will go

It is comforting to see

That you have each other

I truly want to believe

That we have a destiny

That you were meant to find each other

That things are the way they were meant to be

All I know for sure

Is that I see love in both of your eyes

I wish you nothing but happiness and love

“…. the great difficulty is to say yes to life.” James Baldwin

To Loose The Mooring

I just wanted to see what would happen,
to untie the knot and slip the hawser,
just to loose the mooring and see
where the tide would take us,
to cast off from these predictable days,
life, sometimes it's in the letting go.

Pausing is a good thing…

Purplerays

Pausing is a good thing. Everything has to stop at some time in order to keep going. To stop, to rest, or to pause means to do nothing. It means no thinking! No moving! No decisions! What a blessing it is to have the ability to stop and gain strength before moving forward.

          Dreaming Of You

          Sarah Doughty

          “Sometimes when I dream,
I don’t want to wake up.
          Because there, I’m with you.”

Sometimes when I dream, I don’t want to wake up. It’s like I become someone else. It’s like I’m unchained at last, experiencing life from new eyes. Every sense is heightened. I see a kaleidoscope of color. I feel every sound. Hear every touch. But my favorite is the taste. The taste of you. The scent of your aftershave upon my lips as I say your name. It takes my breath away. And when I awake, I grieve that loss of you. At least I can tell myself that if I don’t have you, I still have me. That counts for something, right?

          If I don’t
          have you,
          I have the memory
          of you.
