By The River
He sits alone
staring out
over
the river
his
dreams
revolve around
the river
he has been
a steamship captain
sailing the river
to distant lands
he has fished
along the river
bringing food
to his family
he has been
a barge captain
bringing supplies
to towns along the river
he loves just
sitting here
watching
the river
using the powers
of his young mind
to live
his dreams
