For My Loved Ones
As a poet, I am often asked
what inspires me?
What do I enjoy writing about?
My answer is simple
I write for myself and for all
the loved ones in my life
I write about all the loves
all the losses
all the darkness and pain
I write about the children who inspire me
the crosses I have beared
all the loves in my life
and all the losses
as we enter 2021
my prayer is for
less darkness and more light
