The Yearning of Blooming Roses

Charmed Chaos

In My Garden Today- Mesa, AZ

“A rose in a desert can only survive on its strength, not its beauty.”

― Matshona Dhliwayo

A hazy sky yet the sun shines
through filtered gray
As if the earth is weeping
from troubles of this day
The only bells ringing
are tubular chimes singing
Tempted and teased
by a lingering western breeze

Their crisp song carries across
a pristine kelly green lawn
To blooming roses yearning
to hear lightness of laughter
in the empty garden–
crystal glasses clinking
and soft murmurs of love
dancing on winter’s air
but here only silence reigns
