“You can find me in the frozen mood section.” Henry Rollins
Gently Mocked The day was perfect, but I found its fault where no fault lay, I beat upon its languid warmth, sneered at its sunlit leaves, belittled its calm and cheery air, and, all the while unblemished, it gently mocked my jaded mood. ©Paul Vincent Cannon
Water and fire
I told the Irish beauty in the tavern In Austin, Texas. Some men are dying and some men are living. Death is like a fire. It will burn strong and die down. Hard to rebirth the fire in men hearts after they used it up and accepted the final walk into the bone yards. You are so beautiful. Filled with the wild fire of life wanting to feel hands painting your skin to untold heat and the splendor of the inferno where we try to repeat and can’t.
Her blue eyes began to shine bluer. She rolled her reddish hair through long slender fingers. She opened her legs, allowed me to see strong tanned longs legs and she told me. No-one is dead till the dirt is tossed and the casket closed forever. I see in your gaze upon me. The torment and need to ravish my…

My Summer day wish, my Fall moon blessing
————————————————————————————————————————-In your eyes, I saw the sea, I saw a miracle in those eyes of golden brown, you took my hands and I knew. I would love you forever.

She whispered to me, laid with me, please serenade me with a song of love. You were my Summer wish, my Fall moon blessing. Let’s Winter come and we shall hold on tighter. In the Spring, we will make love in Paris, dance in Hyde park in England. Create a Poet utopia where love is all we need.

Writing is like driving at night in the fog.
You can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way.

Today is Day 255 of the 2020 Daily Writing Challenge.
Did you write yesterday? Half of the year is in our rear-view mirror, and I am drawing a line in the sand. The targets I missed, the stories I didn’t compose, they no longer matter. These last six months are history. Done. I won’t lie, 2020 kicked me in the head, leaving me stunned, unsteady, and incapable of completing anything beyond basic tasks. I bet I am not alone, but don’t count me out yet. They say what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, right? I am confident I will discover I am more capable than I have ever been. I dug deep, reevaluated my annual goals, and I decided…

It may have been a short work week, but it has been a long and busy none the less. Lots of work, and more than a few late nights and early mornings have left my batteries low. During the week, I take a break every 52 minutes, but you can only sustain the pace for so long. What I need now is less work and more time doing nothing.
I have learned downtime is just as important as working hard. You know, work hard, play hard. It is time for a relaxing cup of tea, a blazing fire in the fire pit, a good book, and perhaps a nap. No, I am sure there will be a nap. Then I know I can return to my work and be productive.
How often do you take breaks and recharge?

Women Who Think Too Much by Jeanne Marie
It’s so sad when summer goes away.
I thought if my love was strong enough
Maybe this time she would stay.
So, I chased the sunshine
I kissed the sunflowers
I danced with honeybees
I nurtured wildflowers.
I ran with the butterflies
I played in the sunshine
For hours and hours and hours.
I grew daisies and vegetables
And embraced the sun showers.
I woke each morning and chased the day
Then followed the sun’s departure
As daylight slowly drifted away.
I loved this summer like it was my first,
my last and everything in-between
and when the snow covers my windows
I’ll close my eyes and I’ll dream…
I’ll dream of summer.
