Unfamiliar Territory

Please come and enjoy Linda’s post!!

Charmed Chaos

Art by helldivo at DeviantArt

This is unfamiliar territory
maneuvering through Tropic of Cancer
as beams of intense energy
penetrate my tender left breast
leaving behind a loss of vigor
as my body fights alongside the rays
with a parched scratchy throat and
a weakened voice screaming in silent pain

But even so on this surreal journey (Why me?)
comes a keen sense of calm, of purpose
of a life worth fighting for

Rounding the Cape of Good Hope
as I navigate through unknown waters
I find my mind and soul alive, afloat
in the aftermath of the chaotic storm
I scream with newfound joy

Please Come Congratulate Megha on her Third Year Blog anniversary and her numerous publications!!!

Megha's World

We die. That may be the meaning of life. But we do language. That maybe the measure of our lives.” – Toni Morrison

Every year August 23 always comes as a moment of celebration and a plethora of emotions coupled with memories as it adds another year to the birth of my poetry blog “Megha’s World”.A fruitful and an emotional journey I have taken with almost 6000 subscribers of my blog who have spent their precious time in reading every poem, publication news, event news, interview, every small bit of my happiness relating to my writing journey. What started as a mere effort to connect with the like-minded writers of the lit community has grown to be passion and a purpose that gave shape to my dreams and voice to the issues so close to all my life.

In the third year of this blog, I’m so proud to…

One of the great songs and a poem.

Shipwreck memories

The irony of a long life. We will know joy and sadness. We will have good days and bad days. We will want to live forever and we shall want to die in the moment.

Today I sit by Lake St. Clair. I’m surrounded by shipwreck memories.

I learn years ago by reading Jack London and Hemingway. We must test life to have lived. Must love many to know peace and never except little, when life is never-ending.

The irony of a dreamer is. He will forget his dreams and accept less. He will learn. You cannot return to the place he once knew.

Young writer sat with me. She asked. Is to love, life? I smiled and I kissed her forehead. I told her. Love is like walking on a tight rope without a safety net. Love and hate is a part of all of us. We…

Go forward..

Go forward
I told the young woman with tears in her eyes. Somedays are lonely and we can be scared. We believe we walk alone. Sometime we need to stop our life and renew our dreams. Life is never easy and we will know great sadness. We will lose our mentors and we will know heartbreak.
We will fall many times. The brave and strong people will rise above the sorrow and become stronger, kinder. We will become the teachers and we will try to be good examples to our children.
We must remember our mentors and honor them by going forward, overcoming the hard days and teach the children well. They are the future of our world.
We are tougher than we believe sweet lady. Allow the tears to fall, find people with common dreams. Seek laughter and safe place to rest.
She looked at me and she asked…

Off The Rails – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannon

VJs Weekly Challenge – What A sight

Photo: Old rail line near Bonnie Rock

“Hope is like a road in the country; there was never a road, but when many people walk on it, the road comes into existence.” Lin Yutang

Off The Rails

What a sight this happenchance,
no more the corporate sea of
smoke and steam or voices echoing
through this once vale of life in
this distant place of hardships
now erased as nature grips the
demons of steel by the throat,
all the while laughing at the thought
of progress in a place so fragile
where life so quickly goes
off the rails.
