Surely – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannon

“You should never let your fears prevent you from doing what you know is right.” Aung San Suu Kyi

Surely, to be authentic is to
know our imperfections and
to know that we are less than
the sum of our public persona,
that our pixels blur when no
one is looking at us, but
does that diminish us in
any way, does that prevent us
from speaking the truth to
power in the public square?
Surely the one who has
lived their mistakes is the
one with a voice to share?
