Three Feathers

Charmed Chaos

“When the owl sings, the night is silent. (Quand le hibou chante, La nuit est silence)”

― Charles de Leusse

Three soft feathers lay at my feet
shed from a winged one flying high
On cool morning wind they did ride
before drifting down to the street

A lovely sight, ’tis bittersweet
the message they send me is clear
Know this, you have nothing to fear
My spirit abides in your heart
Our souls are one we’ll never part
For I will forever be near

Crescent Moon #writephoto #crescent #night-meets-day

michnavs

i had you under a crescent moon

where tiny raindrops and little sparkly lights

are night’s mournful yet graceful norm

the moon is in your eyes as it reflects back

sun’s glorious light, not wanting to outshine

the sadness within, as we

await for the night to meet the day

for up and ’till then,

this moment in time

under the crescent moon

in the warmth of your embrace

in the glory of your kiss

in the tenderness of your caress

i am yours and you are mine

under the crescent moon

waning, as the illuminated portion

is decreasing,

our energy is slowing down

bathing us in feelings of satiation

and gratitude

embodying fulfillment

generating wisdom

The 2020 Daily Writing Challenge – August 22

Jo Hawk

2020 Daily Writing Challenge

Writing is like driving at night in the fog.
You can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way.
– E. L. Doctorow

Today is Day 235 of the 2020 Daily Writing Challenge.

Did you write yesterday? Half of the year is in our rear-view mirror, and I am drawing a line in the sand. The targets I missed, the stories I didn’t compose, they no longer matter. These last six months are history. Done. I won’t lie, 2020 kicked me in the head, leaving me stunned, unsteady, and incapable of completing anything beyond basic tasks. I bet I am not alone, but don’t count me out yet. They say what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, right? I am confident I will discover I am more capable than I have ever been. I dug deep, reevaluated my annual goals, and I decided…
