Naked Truth! – iScriblr

Hey Everyone! I hope y’all had a wonderful weekend! It’s time to kill the “Monday Blues” with some Real Talk and SELF REALIZATION! While I was callously looking around for something “substantial” to read on FaceBook this weekend (wonder what are the chances of dong that! LOL!), I stumbled across a captivating story about “NAKED TRUTH” by John Van […]

When Life Gives You Lemons

SHARP MINDS PSYCHOLOGY

I don’t know about you but I’ve had a lot of shitty things happen in 2020. My father died and my bird died, a few days apart. No, they also weren’t COVID related.

But what happens when you’ve reached rock bottom? There’s nowhere to go but up, right?

Take the time you need to heal and feel your feelings. It’s okay to go slower, the whole world has slowed down and rightful needed to. This time is for personal growth and healing. Pour salt in your wounds and rise up by being a better person.

Focus on you. Everything else will fall into place, trust me it’s happened to me a lot. Surrender to what you can’t change, make peace with what’s happened and plan for a better future- for yourself.

Make a plan on how to turn your pain into power and become better than who you were yesterday…

from my heart to yours

Please say some prayers for our friend Drew!!!!

The Lonely Author

from my heart to yours

With everything prepared for my sudden surgery, I spent my Sunday answering 300 comments and reconnecting with all of you. Thank you for keeping me occupied.

Back in November, I started this struggle with my heart. For years, I consumed pain killers which were not FDA approved.

Now, I am paying the price. I don’t want anyone to feel sorry for me. I did this to myself. I only mention it so no one makes my same mistake.

My surgery (double bypass) is on Monday at 7:00 AM

From my heart to yours, a warm eternal thank you.

Never would have survived without you.

She’s Still Alive

Come enjoy Jeanne’s post!!

Women Who Think Too Much by Jeanne Marie

I looked in the mirror this morning

and the woman who once loved you

looked back at me.

I thought she died.

I tried to kill her literally, emotionally

and in every way possible because

I don’t want love that hurts.

I looked in the mirror this morning

and the woman who once loved you

looked back at me.

She’s still alive.

Jo Hawk

2020 Daily Writing Challenge

Writing is like driving at night in the fog.
You can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way.
– E. L. Doctorow

Today is Day 214 of the 2020 Daily Writing Challenge.

Did you write yesterday? Half of the year is in our rear-view mirror, and I am drawing a line in the sand. The targets I missed, the stories I didn’t compose, they no longer matter. These last six months are history. Done. I won’t lie, 2020 kicked me in the head, leaving me stunned, unsteady, and incapable of completing anything beyond basic tasks. I bet I am not alone, but don’t count me out yet. They say what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, right? I am confident I will discover I am more capable than I have ever been. I dug deep, reevaluated my annual goals, and I decided…

Finding Fun in Discipline – Daily Quote

Jo Hawk

its-a-funny-thing_-people-often-ask-how-i-discipline-myself-to-write.-i-cant-begin-to-understand-the-question.-for-me-the-discipline-is-turning-off-the-computer-and-leaving-my-desk-to-do

What images does the word discipline conjure in your mind?

Did you picture arduous work, late nights working for the man, submitting to the daily grind required to reach your goals while eliminating fun from your life? The promise of a guaranteed paycheck, predictability, and security offer the illusion of relative ease. They say success’ biggest enemy is the path of least resistance. The prescription is choosing hard work, nose to the grindstone self-sacrifice, forsaking anything entertaining and easy.

Is it the only way? What if discipline came as naturally as breathing? The key lies in determining your core values. What are your important and non-negotiable principals? Are your ambitions aligned with your beliefs? Who mandated the journey to a wonderful existence must be a struggle? Life is an adventure that we are supposed to enjoy. Reaching a goal is a fleeting moment compared to the time we invest in getting there. Imagine if we…
