Which Will It Be?

Charmed Chaos

“Do not go gentle into that good night,

Old age should burn and rave at close of day;

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”

― Dylan Thomas, Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night

May your thoughts be pure of heart,
Your hands sure and steady
For my future lies
In the precise wield of the scalpel

You hold within your slender fingers
A message of enduring hope
And this is the defining moment
That will shape the rest of my days forever.

Walking the path between life and death
Which will it be for me?
—Life in all its imperfect glory

Author’s Note: Today, I have surgery at 12:30 PM AZ time to remove cancer from my left breast as well as remove at least one left lymph node. This is a prayer for my surgeon.
