Poet’s Lips by Liyona

Go Dog Go Café

I heard a traveling troubadour

sing a song

of the poets lips

that kissed words

into existence and

tasted like phrases of


he sang of the meter

and rhymes that

budded from the poets


and how the lips of this poet brought life

to his heart

Oh how the troubadour

longed to hear from the


how he longed to hear

her voice

Oh for a love, this

poets lips were a curse

to the listener who had

given his soul to

her words.

Finding only solace

in singing

his songs.
