I hear you singing spreading joy
Even in these worst of pandemic times
When my heart is heavy and full of grief
For those who are fallen and gone
This world around me, so filled with pain
Is sometimes more than my soul can bear

Yet here you are every sunlit morning
Singing even if no one is listening
A joyous melody dancing on spring air
So little grey mockingbird I hope you see
As you lift your voice in lilting song
You make this earth a happier place to be
