“If you wanna fly, you got to give up the shit that weighs you down.”  Toni Morrison (Song of Solomon)

There’s No Quelling

Thoughts lingered for a season
of so much more unseen,
an inkling of expanding,
swirling, caramel cosmology
for an ice cream world,
liberating wafer-thin
vanilla ideologies of dullness
brandished to quell the
embers of a wild, wild heart;
no more this cell or bars.
