Loosing Our Appeal

Roth Poetry

Old country store
with stories to tell;
Closed and locked
just waiting to be torn down.
Lead paint peeling
roof shingles falling off.
What a sad day…
when it disappears from site/sight;
Making way for “progress”…
Like many of us;
Waiting for our time.

Today at d’Verse, we are to write a Quadrille of exactly 44 words using the prompt peel. I decided to go with paint peeling on an old building.

      1. Thank you Chuck! You are toooo kind! I love the sentiment that goes with things like this. It takes us places that perhaps younger folks don’t quite understand. Thank you so much for your support and encouragement. I might have to look into a greatest hits poem. But then again that usually come when one is over the hill and falling on the charts.LOL

        1. Happy to share and support your works!! There are greatest hits compilations of those not over the hill. Besides isn’t it better to have a Best Of compilations before it becomes Posthumously?? LOL! I think you should start planning on it, My Friend!!!
