The train roars by
Destination tracked by intention
We are not hopelessly floundering in this world
The train roars by
It is up to us to choose the life we want
You are a victim only of your choices
The train roars by
Destination tracked by intention

#Omens& Symbols . . . Hearts side by side

Hearts side by side.
A magical symbol for friendship is as ancient as human culture. Represents the togetherness of 2 souls. In magic, the symbol was important for bestowing good fortune on a relationship or on partners who were separated for extended periods of time due to travel, war, or trade. The friendship sign could also be involved to help influence the course of romance.

A Mere Shadow
A shadow has form
But no substance does it have
Be all you can be!
Product Placement
advertising is very slick
they plant a seed
into a Hollywood flick
hoping they’ll succeed
and without skipping a beat
we’ll spend a dime
above the cost of our seat
they get us almost every time
a subtle manipulation
of our mind
requires our instant gratification,
sometimes the expensive kind…

According to Wikipedia, the Hershey Company, through the product placement of Reese’s Pieces in the film ET saw up to 300% increased sales. Click here to watch the scene in ET.

Compost Banquet
My compost pile
is a banquet for
many who come to
eat that which I
share, nothing going
to waste as that
which can not be
eaten recycles into
earth. How foolish
of us to create
mountains of things
which can not be
recycled and which
remain pollutants
of our beautiful
earth who is being
smothered by our greed.
We owe it to ourselves…to grieve and cleanse our soul

When we lose a loved one to death or end a long-term relationship, it is perfectly normal to grieve. We must honor and recognize each stage of the grief and every emotion we have. When we do not grieve, we get stuck. We owe it to ourselves and the memory of the relationship to grieve and cleanse our soul.

Daily Prompts – Isolated Incident
How quick we are to form opinions
One isolated incident is enough for us
Generalizations and sweeping statements are a rule
Not the exception with most people
Why should we debate a point when we’ve already
Formed our opinion, made a judgment
Waiting and giving a decent chance is not our way
We don’t pamper the guilty with a fair trial
We condemn them like an errant spouse, who
Fails to do one task assigned to them
And would never hear the end of it
But see how quickly Tale turn
When we are facing the same situation
Now we are raising the voice, standing up
Do listen to our story without quick condemnation
Don’t you judge me on one isolated incident!

A Conscience
Why do we have a conscience
an awareness of our
beingness and connection
to others, a sense of life–
ours and others?
What is this inner voice
that pricks or praises us?
In every culture exists
evidence of man’s search,
his longing for answers
to his deepest questions:
Who am I?
Why am I here?
Is there a Universal Force
and, if so, what is my
relationship to it?
Am I connected to other
life and to what purpose?
What is evil, where did
it come from? Why am I
tempted by things I know
are not good for me or others?
On and on we ponder…but why?
Are we the only beings
who gnaw these bones?
