The Moon Be Our Witness

I put a drop of rose in your ear

A low rumble from your whiskey breath

Come press your stubbly face against my cheek

Let our flaws slowly blend blurry

The cup of my hand on your neck and yours on my hip

Let’s flow as the wheat fields whip and bow

Smooth as though we weren’t fire and storm

As though we both weren’t insane

And let our blues turn to hues unfound

It’s 2:04 and let the moon turn and spy

Our new sway in reverse sweet and soft

And I’ll put honey on your tongue

Just a drop

Oh how I love your sweet nectar on my neck
