More Time

Heartstring Eulogies

“As the old saying goes,
I wish we had more time.”

When I see the weary look in your eyes, I can feel the weight of it. It’s a place I have come to dread. And I know that clock is ticking and I am powerless to stop it. It doesn’t stop me, however, from trying anyway. After bargaining with the universe, I came to the solemn resolve that begging is never beneath me when it comes to things such as this. Problem is, when that clock runs out, I’ll spin my wheels all over again as the despair rips me apart on the inside.
