At The Heart Of Trouble
“That’s how I knew I was in trouble.
My heart was caught long before
my mind could realize it.”
The more I gave myself time to think, the more I became convinced that I brought this all on myself. It wasn’t just one thing, either. I turned to the one person I thought could help me and what remained of my family. I brought them with me because no one else could. Everyone else was dead. Once we arrived, I realized the gravity of that mistake. The power he effused from his very essence should have been cause enough for concern. But it was the gravity of him. In his gaze. In his body. The Call ~ A Poem By Walt Page, The Tennessee Poet
I sit outside
At dusk
Watching
The moon rise
Witnessing
The magic
As solid objects
Slowly become shadows
Feeling
The power of the moon
Calling me

There Will Be Time – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannon
dVerse Poets – Poetics – Last Lines
Wish at dVerse has invited us to select either the last line of a book close at hand or from one the links she has kindly provided.
I have chosen Haruki Murakami’s ‘After Dark’, Tokyo, Vintage, 2009; and the line:
“There will be time until the next darkness arrives.”

“After a lifetime of darkness, I want to leave something behind that is made of light.” Marie Lu
There Will Be Time
The lantern in the lonely shack,
a slender glow on morning’s horizon,
that candle talisman of human heart,
cliched clouds over moonlight,
silvery awareness, while
silhouetted peaks are imposing,
always the reveal of light sneaking
under life’s door,
and you just know
there will be time until
the next darkness arrives.
