Remember me as flowers
Pushing their way out of the dark
To find warmth in the sun’s embrace
I recently lost someone very dear to me, and my pen has once again become my comforting friend.

Even a hovel looks like a fairy palace
Decorated in shining lights and decorations
It’s unhinged door looking festive with a wreath
And the snowman guarding the street
It’s carrot nosetwitching in anticipation
Of all the treats that will be coming it is way
In a clandestine way, away from human eyes.

children’s dreams gleam

the air thick
with anticipation
smells of tradition
adorn the rooms
families gather
and feasts await
the commercial
is complete
