Yes, there’s beauty in winter
I’ll give you that
But, no brainer given the choice
As between both of these
Quite opposed to the freeze
it’s the summer in which I rejoice

Senryu In youth we are brave Fearlessly searching for love Now we wait and see Christine Bolton – Poetry for Healing ©

Surrounded by petrichor of tranquil rain
as it mingled with fragrance of wet roses
my soul awakens, reminiscing love’s kiss
glistening raindrops cooling hot tears
stars in our eyes falling, falling down
From threatening skies ~
Hearts cloaked in heavy perfume of flowers
at our feet in stark array, drifting pink petals
in our swirling souls, silvery essence of hope
as sensual aromas of luscious peaches linger
amid wistful sighs of our fevered searching lips.

between each breath
pulsating passions
waiting to be unleashed
renewed hope not limited
judgment of wishes derring-do
a muted world wallows in silence
the lull of sage advice haunts us once more

A gander at me –
I enjoyed a dedicated career in the insurance industry for over 20 years being rewarded both professionally and personally. Now it’s time for me to follow my dreams by doing things I enjoy…spending time with family, learning, sharing, traveling, writing poetry and encouraging others to pursue their goals.
My writing and creative endeavors can be found at my blogs, BrewNSpew (Coffee-break Scuttlebutt) and PoetryPalette (Poetry, a seasonal state of mind), where I have gathered a following of kindred souls who share my passion for writing.
I am the author of two books, Seasoned Delights, A Haiku Collection; and Mama, me and Mother Nature. I…

Holding you
Now
My head in your lap
Your hands on my chest
My arms wrapped around yours
Holding you
New bonds form
Intimacy flows from my heart
Through my body
Into yours
Chains around my heart released
My tongue is loosed
From the ropes that bound it
My feelings
My true self
Awakens to you
Without reservation
All is released and known
Who I am
Seen
By you
I am free from the past
The brokenness made whole
Here I am
Holding you

“An ecstasy is a thing that will not go into words; it feels like music.” Mark Twain
The water once gathered from the sky,
heaven’s bold gift
a recess of your mind
your dark iris hears, sees, and
tells a tale of something known
in the very core of that secret place,
turning, writhing, resisting,
as the piper plays
tunes move through you,
a smooth melolagnia,
your hairs stand
rippling, like a wave
as you soak deep
the abiding presence
washing over,
now spent
as night.
