“Even though I accomplished nothing today the stars still came out at night.”  Marty Rubin

Maybe

I was feeling rather shouldly
a consideration set against the
blank page of acedia,
that old noonday demon
of all my tomorrows
ever appearing,
never arriving,
to which I tilt my hat
with resignation.

The Wolf Inside-Sarah Doughty

Heretics, Lovers, and Madmen

“It was only a dream, but I still knew
the soul behind your eyes wasn’t yours.
Like a wolf in sheep’s clothing.”
It was only a dream, but I still knew the soul behind your eyes wasn’t yours. Like a wolf in sheep’s clothing, you watched me with a predator’s eyes. I was enthralled and terrified at the same time, not knowing what to expect. Not knowing if you were truly there every now and again when I saw how the sunlight made your blue eyes even more striking. And though he didn’t hurt me while living under your skin — this time — nothing was stopping him. Not even me. Isn’t it strange? Even in my dreams I’m frozen into submission, waiting for what was to come.
While my love for you
will never change,
I can’t help but wonder
if you’re the one
looking back at me.

Welcome Our New Barista: Phillip Knight Scott

Go Dog Go Café

The Baristas were thrilled at the diverse and talented group who submitted applications to be a new Barista at the Go Dog Go Cafe.  We will be introducing them you one at a time so you can get to know them and their writing better.   This week Phillip joins the team.

My name is Phillip. I live in North Carolina and, at least for the next year, I’m on the right side of 40. (Both the interstate and existence in years). Eleven years ago I was lucky enough to marry a wonderful woman, who gave us our only son, now three and developing opinions of his own. By day I work for a software company but have been writing mostly in secret for decades, only recently springing my poems on the world (whether wanted or not). I love to read, watch baseball, and get outside.

Heart vibration

Spiritual messages

When the heart sings
It warms people
Wraps them in singing light
Then it speaks a language
That reaches every heart
Which is melting ice
Touches our innermost core
Takes us to paradise

When the heart sings
All clocks stand still
Time itself listens
The sound of love
Eyes look up
Feel harmony
Vibrating happiness
That silences the mind

Let us sing this song together…
Divine vibration…

The thousand faces of the ego

Spiritual messages

Sometimes we run after power
Sometimes bath in lust
Sometimes drink from the straw of greed
Sometimes are like oil and fire
Sometimes are possessed by possessions
Sometimes act like actors
Sometimes persist to be right
Sometimes convince with lies
Sometimes lose honour for little advantages
Sometimes are prisoners of wishes and desires
Sometimes hate even others for their otherness

We all change the masks permanently
To feed our ego and mind…

Time to be aware of our thoughts, words, deeds and its consequences…
