For every man who pleasures
There is a man who pains
For every man who loses
There is a man who gains
Yet all of them they pray
Pray in the good Lord’s name
Yet he treats us different
Yet he treats us unsame

The child inside remembers
The water in the pool.
Ripples at the bottom.
To feel the strong tug.
The knees go weak.
To take a step back.
The heart beat fast.
Of legs kicking.
And hands trashing.
Water, water, water.
I am underwater.
Suffocating. Drowning.
I am four-years-old.
Left alone for a minute.
Bathtub filling with water.
The toy just out of reach.
Almost a watery grave.
A memory is triggered.
The nightmare surfaces.
So too, the phobia.
But fear is under control.
There’s no fear of the ocean.
I love the crashing waves.
As for bathtubs and pools,
The child inside remembers

Autumn – Eugenia
Meadows…whisper softly
softly as autumn scents
scents of fallen leaves
leaves magenta tinged.
Trees…swaying gently
gently leaves falling
falling amber and gold
gold marmalade skies.
Shorter days, sun aloof
aloof from lucid dreams
dreams woven with magic
magic intoxicated with song.
Longer nights, stronger vibes
vibes of drowsy melodies
melodies idled in songs
songs of campfire tales

Constant reminder
We may run away
From our own bad deeds
However, they catch up with us
Again and again
To remind us
Not to repeat them…

Quotations On Nature

“The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.”
John Muir
“The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quite alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. As longs as this exists, and it certainly always will, I know that then there will always be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be. And I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles.”
Anne Frank
“Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of the earth.”
Henry David Thoreau

CHURCH BOY OUT NOW!
EXCITING NEWS, my dear readers!
Last week I released my newest novel, Church Boy, to the world! While I should have posted on this sooner, I was a tad bit busy and forgot to advertise the book. (Pretty “redonk”). Anyway, I thought I would go ahead and post something now so that you guys are up-to-date!
Church Boy is not my typical book, but I’m happy it is done and released. It took a month to write and clocks in a little under 60,000 words. While I submitted the manuscript to Harlequin’s Christian line, the book was almost immediately rejected, so I thought: “Why not just go ahead and publish it free online?”
Without further ado, here’s some info on this little summer project of mine. 🙂
Who doesn’t want a church boy?
This is an everyday thought in the small town of Colonia, Mississippi, where church and romance are…
