The Reluctant Poet
Poet’s world
madly wild
with swarming words
dancing with pen
but not too long
for the story is
brief
succinct
efficient
yet emotional
and passionate
to a fault

I find great joy in music
Recently I found joy from the past
I watched the 1994 Hell Freezes Over Tour
Concert by The Eagles
Songs that bring so many memories
Songs filled with sadness
Songs filled love
Classic music from a classic band
Pure joy
Joy at its finest
So many joyful songs
“ Love Will Keep Us Alive”
Music survives
And thanks to music
So do I

What is love if not set aglow through the embers of passion
What is life if not basked in the warmth of love
What is life if not pining in the patience awaiting
As love conquers you it blesses you in the knowing.
Make not a mockery of love
Serenade love and allow it to speak truth
Love surfaces from the depth of emotions

“One has to work very carefully with what is in between the words. What is not said. Which is measure, which is rhythm and so on. So, it is what you don’t write that frequently gives what you do write its power.”

1:00 flashes on the alarm clock
Eyes shut
Mind awake
Stirring up thoughts
Past and future
Unknown awaiting
Another night
Ticking away
