It is the mission of Go Dog Go Café to provide a warm, inviting and inspiring gathering space in order to build a healthy and supportive writing community.  We are committed to providing the Go Dog Go Community with a mix of weekly and special features that explore the writing life and writing from a diverse group of talented writers. To keep things fresh and dynamic at the GDG Cafe, we are currently recruiting new Baristas.

Barista Responsibilities:

• Submission of a minimum of 2 to 3 pieces (poetry, prose, writing prompt, book reviews, writer interviews, essays about writing, and/or short fiction) of original writing a month
• Commitment to actively participate in the Go Dog Go Community by visiting often, reading and commenting on posts and showing support for patrons and your fellow Baristas

Now I know we all have been here at some point or the other: Wrath is a destructive force with the power to tear us down within seconds of its activation. When we are consumed by our anger, bad things happen. We do and say things we don’t mean to the point of potentially harming ourselves or others.

Righteous anger is possible, but we must not let our rage eat away at our hearts for extended periods of time. Forgiveness is a requirement for us to sustain…

I cry for the winds to carry me
to the place where there’s no pain.
A place where I am young again
with meaning to my name.

Where I could hear the waterfalls
or sit and watch the waves.
A place of love and music
no worries and no stress.

Where flowers bloom all year
a place where I can rest.
Where I can always hear the music,
the songs that I love best.

I know that they will take me there
when the time is right,
but I’m not really ready yet.
There’s too much left to do.
